What is Reiki?

Reiki is a time reik-Kanji-purple_smallhonored tradition from Asia. The word Reiki comes from 2 characters in Japanese.
Reiki means universal or spiritual life force. Reiki replenishes the immune system removing energy blockages, speeds healing and restores emotional balance.
Reiki energy is passed from the practitioner to the client through light non-invasive touch with the practitioner’s hands placed and held on a series of locations on the head and front and back of the torso. Clients remain fully clothed for a Reiki session. Hand placement is never intrusive or inappropriate. If preferred, a Reiki session can be received “hands off” (without touching).
What to Expect in Your Reiki Session
Before the session, there will be a short question and answer portion of your appointment. You will be invited to lie on a massage table. . Treatments can also be given while seated.  Toni usually plays soft music during the session, for relaxation and to mask ambient noise.
Everyone is Different. Please Let Toni Know If You…

  • Have a health condition that might affect your ability to lie on your back or stomach.
  • Have any specific health concerns that you want to focus on.
  • Have any other specific needs.
  • Are sensitive to touch in any area, such as from a recent surgery.
  • Prefer silence as opposed to soothing background music.

After Your Session
Most people typically leave a Reiki session feeling calm, refreshed and clear. You may notice feeling more tired in the evening than usual. This is your body’s natural healing response and it is best to rest as needed. Be sure to drink plenty of water to help with the integration of the session.
Reiki can be used at any time for relaxation or to improve well-being.  Toni has found Reiki to be helpful with bereavement, stress reduction, healing of injuries, insomnia and respiratory imbalances among others.
